Crossword 1


PD: some of the words didn't appear so I copied the answers and the clues because the link shows the crossword fulfilled anyway.

Ancient Egypt: It was the biggest of the first civilizations and it was located near the Nile River.   

Tomb: A place or structure where the dead were left to rest in peace. The Egyptian pyramids are great examples of them.   

Ancient China: It was a civilization located between the Yellow and Blue rivers. It was governed by emperors in different dynasties.   

Dynasty: A family whose members rule a country or region for a long period of time.   

Babylon: This city achieved hegemony and founded a durable empire around the year 1800 BC.   

Assyrian empire: It was the last institution to rule Mesopotamia, until the 6th century when the Persians conquered them.  

Civilization: A society that has developed its own culture and institutions.   

Neolithic town: They were the first little settlements in during the N_ _ _ _ _ _ _ c Period.   

Gods: They were the rulers, the main deities, they were the ones that controlled life, the world, the destiny, and by making sacrifices you will gain they favour.   

Mesopotamia: It was one of the first civilizations, and its name means between rivers.   

Empire: A group of countries, kingdoms, or regions ruled by one main authority.   

Hierarchical: It was an organized social structure which was divided in social classes, depending on your importance.   

Privileged: This were the people who had better advantages or opportunities because of their better social status, depending on your money or your importance.   

Subjugated: Are people who are slaved or, and ruled by people of a higher social class.   

Emperor Qin: He was one of the rulers of China and the one who in the 3rd century BC   

Rituals: Are groups of steps, or procedures done for a god or a religious purpose.

First civilizations

Where do you think first civilizations emerged?
As man evolute from Africa, the first civilizations were near or in Africa, as Egypt, Mesopotamia, Indian, Chinese, and the farthest in America, the Aztects, the Incas, the Olmecs and the Chavin. As they moved from Africa when the continents were together they didn't cross seas, nor anything, and later humans just evolved and changed according to the place where they were. Most of them originated more than 6,000 years ago.

Why are they called river civilizations?
Because they all settled near rivers in order to survive, be able to raise their cattle, be able to grow their crops and feed themselves. Also navigate along them in order to trade with other civilizations.
